Nepal 2015: Day 9+10

Nepal 2015: Day 9+10

Nepal 2015: Day 9 & 10

Today we had an amazing time with Gloria Mission School which teaches children from poor background. The school was started in 2002 by Grace Tak who came to Nepal from Korea as a missionary in 2000. The school was destroyed during the recent earthquake in April. The land was also damaged and Grace had to find a new land and rebuild the school which now provides education from kindergarten through to primary six level.

What an exciting and inspiring day at Gloria Mission School and meeting it's wonderful founder Grace Tak!

Nepal 2015: Day 8

Nepal 2015: Day 8

Pastor NP suggested we should go and preach at as many churches as possible ... so THAT is what we exactly did! And then we met the incredible Ruth - a woman of prayer! What an awesome testimony and inspiration!

Nepal 2015: Day 6 - 2nd day of the Christ's Ambassadors Youth Camp 2015

Day 2 at the Youth Camp

This morning Aaron lead 7am devotion with the 400 youths sharing his journey of how he converted from Buddhism to Christianity. The youths and even the translator were blessed with the sharing because they could really related it to their hindu background. Hinduism is deeply rooted into their culture.

Aaron led worship with Dipesh and the local worship team. They are so talented and spirit led. There were songs in English and Nepali.

The skits have made us seem approachable because we used a light hearted approach as an opening to the messages. The youth started greeting us more in the afternoon and started to play with us.

'Be the best Christian' that you can be!

'Be the best Christian' that you can be!

Richard gave another powerful sermon with an altar call with many committing to serve Christ with courage - to not be a 'normal Christian' but be the 'best Christian' they can be. After the message Richard recharged by having a wander in the local community. He even won a local champion at Ludo and was invited to have food with the family!

Zoe's sharing was great especially because there hadn't been any other female speaker at the event. Hopefully the sharing will encourage the youth to be courageous for Christ.

A Japanese pastor came from Japan with his Nepali translator. The Napali man was in Japan for missionary training. He has a heart to spread the gospel in the land of Nepal. His parents still have no idea that he is there for training. The pastor's church will be his sending church, supporting his mission back in Nepal.

In the evening we were invited to dance with the worship team on stage. The whole congregation were dancing together jumping up and down for minute after minute. We wanted to stop and rest half way but the youth made us continue. They have so much energy.

Jonny shared in the evening. He was a bit nervous before going onto stage so Aarom asked the children around us to lay hands and pray for Jonny. Jonny's message focused on the unity of the church.

The translators make such a difference to the weight of the message. We have been blessed with lively and godly translators to help us pass our words of encouragement and teaching to the youth.

Party time with the youths!

Party time with the youths!

After six days together, this afternoon the BLi team finally had time to get to know each other. The past six days has been so busy that we've not even had time to get to know each other.

Please pray for us to have a good nights rest so that we plenty of energy for tomorrow. More and more youths are wanting to speak and play with us. We still have a few more talks to give so please help us pray for wisdom.

Nepal 2015: Day 5 - Day 1 of the Christ's Ambassadors Youth Camp 2015

Wonderful worship session together!

Wonderful worship session together!

This camp has been running for nearly fifteen years for youths ranging from their early teens to thirty years old. I love it here because in the UK my age range is no longer classified as 'youths'.

Their worship is full of joy and energy. They have a passion for Christ that is rare in the developed world. Floods of people run in response to altar calls.

Our team has been assigned many last minute tasks. We have dramas prepared and a few talks but we have been asked to do more. Sermons, testimonials, worship leading, and Sunday service (which is held on a Saturday here). Exciting!

Lunchtime!

Lunchtime!

At lunch we offered to serve the youths lunch. We were too generous with our portion sizes and were asked to give more rice and less of the other dishes. Serving lunch made us realise how generous the pastors family had been to us giving us giant portions of food. They made sure we had enough before they themselves ate.

Beautiful garlands and worship dance welcomed the team this morning.

In our group Richard and HuiKing were first to serve today. God blessed the youths through their messages but they too were blessed by the youths response and feedback.

We can't wait to see what God has installed for tomorrow!

Nepal 2015: Day 3+4 - Benepa & Village project

Nepal 2015: Day 3+4 - Benepa & Village project

Nepal 2015: Day 3+4 at Benepa.

We wake up to another cold morning at the local church with Pastor NP & his very hospitable family. Devotion at 7am followed by a wonderful local breakfast cooked by Bandana (pastor's wife). By the time we've finished breakfast the sun has risen and everyone is basking in the morning sun in their t-shirts.

At 9am we set off up the mountain to revisit the building site where we are helping the Romtil family rebuild their home. Their son Jonathan is our guide up the mountain and leads us up a shortcut which is quicker but more tiring than yesterday's journey up.

Our team of 6 got straight to work digging the eight foundation holes!

Nepal 2015 UPDATE

Nepal 2015 UPDATE

The Bread & Life International team will be serving, building shelters, running medical & dental clinics and helping at a 700 youth rally for those still recovering from the devastaing earthquake in April 2015. All the donations will go towards the building funds.

The missions team is aiming to build 100 essential shelters in Nepal that cost approx. £90 each. Each and every shelter built, witnesses the goodness and generosity of the churches and opens the hearts for the Gospel in the community. The churches in Nepal are at present in revival!
